Sean Mc Caffrey’s side take on Latvia to morrow at 18.00 (2pm Irish Time) knowing that a win will see them through to the Elite Round of the UEFA Under 17 Championships.
Sean has a full panel to select from as James O’Brien, Kieron Thorpe both played full games on Monday and Sean Scanell played for 70 minutes – have now fully recovered from their illnesses.

The table shows how tight the group is, a win for Latvia would see them qualify and leave Ireland waiting on the result of the other game.
Sean Mc Caffrey has stated that “it is important that we win to morrow and that we are not depending on results from other games”.
Today saw the Irish team take a training session in the morning with all players participating. In the afternoon the players had a relaxing afternoon at the Bowling Complex.
Yesterday saw the team visit the local orphanage UMID YERI where the Irish Society and Billy Quinn in particular in Azerbaijan do tremendous work. UMID YERI which translates into “Place of Hope” is non government foster home to give street kids a chance to make a new start in life.
The players provided an unexpected break for the children in the orphanage and brought plenty of smiles to the kids particularly to the little lad who scored a penalty against Dermot O’Neill and he received a great round of applause.
