DAVE CONNELLS Republic of Ireland Womens Under 17 squad travels to Edinburgh this week for two friendly internationals against Scotland.
The Irish side will meet the Scots at Ainslie Park on Wednesday evening and Friday afternoon as Connells side turns their minds towards next years UEFA WU17 Championships qualifying campaign.
Connell has announced a mixture of players born in 1997 and 1998 to help complete the transition from this years U17 age-group to next years batch.
"We have brought in a few players to help add that experience to the group but the majority of them are 1998s," said Connell.
"Scotland will mostly be going with a team of 1997-born players so we did not want to have too big of an age gap but also we are looking towards next years campaign and our younger players will learn from the likes of Savannah McCarthy, Megan Connolly and Hayley Nolan.
"Some of the 1998s were with us before in friendly games we played earlier in the season and this is another good opportunity for me to look at the players that we will have when the UEFA qualifiers come around in October.
"We will also have a double-header of friendlies against Denmark in September."
