Padraig Amond of Shamrock Rovers and James Berrett of Huddersfield Town have been called up to the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad for next week’s friendly match against Lithuania on Tuesday, October 14 (1pm, Irish team). Cillian Sheridan (Celtic) and Alan Judge (Blackburn Rovers) have been forced out to withdraw from the original squad.
Don Givens is preparing his squad for the next qualifying campaign which begins next September.
Republic of Ireland Under-21 manager Don Givens has handed debuts at this level to James O’Shea (Galway United), Ian Bermingham (UCD) and Anthony Pilkington (Stockport) for today’s friendly match away to Lithuania. The action gets underway at 1pm, Irish time.
Givens is preparing his squad for the next qualifying campaign which begins next September.
The Republic of Ireland recently finished their UEFA qualifiers with an encouraging 2-2 draw against Portugal in Madeira, which saw the Irish stage a magnificent comeback from two goals down.
