Republic of Ireland Under-21 team manager Noel King has made a number of changes to his squad for their final UEFA Championships qualifying game against Italy on Monday.
The Irish face Group Seven leaders Italy in their final fixture at the Giuseppe Capozza Stadium in Casarano (5.30pm Irish) seeking to end the group on a high.
Suspensions have cost King the services of Shane Duffy, Greg Cunningham, Rhys Murphy and Jeff Hendrick.
Wolves defender Matt Doherty and Blackburn midfielder John O Sullivan have been called in and will meet up the squad in Bari tomorrow night.
“The game against Italy is an exciting one for us and we have a good record against them over the years so we will go there looking to do well,” said King.
“We are looking to the next campaign and will have nine players from the 1992 age group involved, so there is a great chance to have a look at them.
“At this stage it is right to consider the next qualifying campaign and there are lots of players with potential in that age bracket to look at.”
