Republic of Ireland Under-19 manager Sean McCaffrey today announced a 20-man squad for the forthcoming friendlies against France in the RSC, Waterford and Turner’s Cross, Cork on Tuesday, March 25 and Thursday, March 27 respectively. Both games will kick-off at 7.30pm.
There are debut call-ups at this level for Laurence Gaughan, who has captained the Irish Under-17 and Under-18 teams, Cork City’s David Meyler as well as Sam Sheridan of Bolton Wanderers.
Ireland Under-19 team manager, Sean McCaffrey, said: “These matches are extremely important for the future development of these players. It’s crucial for a lot of these players to make the step into the Under 21 squad and playing for Under 19 level will help them bridge the gap.”
