b.1972 in West Limerick but schooled in Tarbert, Kerry, debut v Wales 9.6.94. 76th-minute sub for T Leahy in the USA B game, 1-1 at Richmond Park. First start v NI in Belfast 29.10.94 on right of midfield, hailed as "a real athletic and competitive find". Also played GAA (3 x all-star, often likened to namesake Eoin "Bomber" Liston but not related: "No, but I'm working on the beard" was her well-worn quip) rugby for Irish national 'A' team. Later Dr Liston an academic at Uni of Ulster - interested in sociology of sport and concussion - a big feminist but to her credit doesn't try to blame all the women's game's ills on men. Played for UCD in Uefa Cup. Playing for Welsox (Dublin) in 1994. Played in Welsox's 4-0 1994 LFAI Cup final win over Verona, 25.9.94 at Richmond Road (Park?). Shelbourne player in 1995. As at game v France at Turner's Cross 12.11.94 was 22yo student w 3 caps. Won another cap as a 70th-min sub for T Leahy in a 6-0 friendly win over hapless NI at United Park, Drogheda, 3.9.95. Played for Welsox in the DWSL and intravarsity stuff for UCD. Played in Shelbourne's 4-0 LFAI Cup final defeat by Shamrock Rovers at the Iveagh Grounds, August 1997. Played for Shels in the DWSL League Cup final 9.11.97 at Tolka Park, in which they beat Shamrock Rovers on penalties after a 2-2 draw. Helped launch UCD's DWSL side in 2002 - they played in intravarsity comps before then.
