Gavin currently plays for West Bromwich Albion in the English Football League Championship as a goalkeeper.
He transferred in the summer of 2007, aged 16, from Crumlin United in Dublin, having also played for Curragh Athletic. He has been capped by the Republic of Ireland at U-14, U-15, U-16 and Under 17 levels.
Gavin made his English football debut on 18 December, 2007, with the West Bromwich Albion Reserves, minding the net until full time versus the Bradford City reserves. The result was a 3-6 victory for West Bromwich.
