Cork City FC are delighted to confirm that John Kavanagh has signed back with the club for the coming season.

The 19 year old captained the club’s Under 19 side to the league and cup double last year, having previously played with Ringmahon Rangers. Speaking after signing, the full back said he was looking forward to next season: “I’m delighted. I was happy enough with how last year went and I am hoping to get a run in the team again next season. John is building a good squad and the signings are a signal of his intent. There are some big names coming in, so it is all positive.”

City manager John Caulfield told CorkCityFC.ie that Kavanagh was another good addition to the squad: “John is another young lad who has come through from our Under 19 team. He broke through into the first team last year and played a number of games, so this is a big season for him. He has great potential, he is quick, tough and good defensively, and we hope he can establish himself in the team.
