Irelands under-19s suffered a heartbreaking late loss to hosts Belgium last night in the opening game of the second phase of qualifiers for the European Championship.
Ireland were guilty of wasting good opportunities as the chances piled up. Eventually it proved costly with the Belgians making the breakthrough on 88 minutes.
Qualification is already unlikely after just one game with Ireland needing to win both remaining games and hoping against hope that Belgium do not win in their last two.
