Sean Mc Caffreys under 19 team fell toa controversial 3-2 defaet to Ukraine in the Castelo Branco tournament game in Portugal.

Mark Yeates scored both Irish goals but Ireland fell to a controversial 84th minute penalty.

Ireland ended the game with 9 players as Mark Yeates and Kevin Cronin were both sent off late in the game.

Yeates got off the mark after 29 minutes before Ukraine equalised before half time.

Ukraine went in fron in the 58th minute only for Yeates to pull Ireland level again after 74 minutes.

Ukraine were awarded a penalty in the 84th minute which saw Oleksander Aliyev score past Paul Murphy.

Yeates was sent off after a second yellow shortly after his goal while Cronin was sent off following his protests at the award of the penalty
