Match report
Rep of Irealnd 2 Norway 0
Sean Mc Caffreys Under 19 hada good win over Norway in the Under 19 game played in Richmond Park.

Ireland dominated throughout despite the fact that they were without more experieced players such as Micahel Timlin (Fulham), Stephen Bradley (Arsenal) Richie Ryan (Sunderland) Henry Mc Stay (Leeds Utd ) Mark Yeates (Spurs) and Wilo Flood (Manchester City).

Ireland should have taken the lead in the first half and missed some easy chances including a chance for Bohemians youngster Stephen Ward who was making his debut at Under 19 age group after scoringa double on his first team debut last Friday.

Irelands Alan O Brien was causing plent of problems down the wing for Norway and Gary Mulligan spurned agreat opportunity preseted to him by O Brien.

Ireland who were playing for their places in the upcoming European Championships to be held in San Marino took the lead just before tyhe hour mark whena well executed free kick by Leeds United Derek Tyrell found its way to the net from just outside the area.

Nottingham Forest midfield David Freyne - son of former Cork City star Patsy- should have addaed to the score balzing over after excellent work by Ward on the right had side.

But Freyne made amends with 15 minutes remaining followed up to finish after the Norwegain goalkeeper spilled a shot from David Cassidy.
