Dave Connell's team are preparing for their upcoming UEFA European Championship Elite Round games and this double header will serve them well.

Ireland won the first clash between the sides earlier in the week - with a 3-0 win - but this outing didn't go exactly to plan, at least in terms of the scoreline.

Still, Connell will take a lot of positives from the performance of his young side as they zipped the ball around well and supported each other in crunch situations.

After falling behind in the first half, Ireland came roaring back with a goal from Shelbourne Ladies midfielder Alex Kavanagh on 59 minutes.

Another goal from Peamount United striker Eleanor Ryan-Doyle on 75 minutes gave Ireland hope of getting a desired result, but Czech Republic got two goals of their own.

Overall, it was a worthwhile exercise and the squad can now turn their attention to the Elite Round games in April, which will be played on home soil.

Republic of Ireland: McAloon; Mccartan, Moloney, Finn, Farrelly; Daly, Watters, Kavanagh; Noonan, Ryan-Doyle, Beirne.
