Match report
Ireland matched their hosts for the most part and could have been ahead by the break but France hit the front on 67 minutes through Delphine Blanc.

The Irish looked for an equaliser and were hit by a second French goal when Elise Bussaglia took advantage to make it 2-0.

Overall, it was a productive week for Ireland manager Noel King, who saw his charges defeat English side Reading 3-0 on Monday.

Republic of Ireland manager, Noel King was pleased with his sides performance against a French side who are currently ranked 8th in the FIFA World Rankings, “I thought our performance was superb, obviously we are now looking ahead to the FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign but to come here to a team of this stature and to compete with them is superb.”

King added, “These games are vital to our preparation for the upcoming qualifying campaign. After coming so close to qualification to the EURO 2009 Championship finals, our aim is to push on make the big breakthrough in international football by qualifying for a major international tournament.”

The Republic of Ireland will find out their opposition for the 2011 World Cup qualifiers on March 17th when the draw is made in Germany.
