Match report
Tom Mohan's side made a host of changes to his side from Tuesday's opening encounter and in blustery conditions it took a while for this game to settle.

Ireland got a big let off in the 22nd minute when Noah Blasucci fired across the face of the Irish goal when he seemed certain to hit the target.

The Swiss went ahead on the stroke of half-time when Nedim Bajrami fired home from the penalty spot after Giotto Morandi had been fouled.

Ireland levelled in the 56th minute when Colm Walsh-O'Loghlen's corner was flicked on and Dara O'Shea bundled the ball home after a goal-mouth scramble.

In the 64th minute O'Shea came to Ireland's rescue when he cleared off the line from a header by Swiss captain Kreshnik Hajrizi after a Morandi corner.

Walsh-O'Loghlen had a chance to snatch the winner in the 76th minute when he arrived at the back post to connect with a deep cross by Rian O'Sullivan but he hit his shot into the ground and wide.

Ireland's Thomas Byrne was dismissed for a second bookable offence in injury-time.

Ireland will travel to Poland later this month for the UEFA U17 Championships Elite Phase when they meet the Poles, Serbia and Montenegro with the ambitions of securing a place in the finals in Azerbaijan. The group winners and seven runners-up with the best record against the teams first and third in their section advance to the finals to join the hosts.
