The first game between the Republic of Ireland and Wales ‘B’ teams at finished in a 2-2 draw.

Debutant Conner McGlinchey from Hamilton Academicals opened the scoring after 11 minutes by planning a shot into the bottom corner before a looping header from Max Penk brought Wales level six minutes later.

The Welsh went in front three minutes after half-time through a splendid Richard Kane free-kick but Uros Ivkovic squared the match up again for Ireland with an exquisite finish on the hour mark.

Report from Wales
Daniel Ward was called into a smart save early on low to his left and soon after turned a volley over the bar from an Irish forward.

Wales went ahead when Max Penk met a free kick and managed to flick it into the top corner. Ireland equalised from a free kick out wide that was delivered into the 6 yard box and was met by their central defender who rose unchallenged to head home.

Wales scored again soon after the restart. Connor Wickham smashing home a well struck free kick from the edge of the box that the goalkeeper would be disappointed with conceding. This was a vastly improved performance from the previous game as Wales got tighter to their opposition, kept possession and passed the ball better. James Loveridge Volleyed wide from distance as Wales pushed to increase their lead.

The Republic of Ireland equalised with 10 minutes to go when a wide free kick was again unchallenged in the box for the Irish to head home from 6 yards.
