Match report
Andy Reid's Ireland Under-18 side were narrowly beaten 1-0 by Norway In their final game of a three-game tournament in Sweden.
10th Sep 2019

Ireland started the brighter of the teams with James Furlong and Josh Girurgi exchanges passes on the left handside before a cross into the box that just evaded Charlie McCann.

On 27 minutes McCann was involved again, this time Sean Kennedy got down the right and played it to the Manchester United midfielder who drew a save from the Norwegian keeper before the danger was cleared.

But it was to be Norway who opened the scoring out of nothing. Martin Njøten Palumbo found the bottom corner from the left hand side of the box to give the Norwegians a first-half stoppage time lead.

On 57 minutes it was to get worse for Ireland when Conor Carty, who had impressed throughout, was shown a second yellow card for dissent.

Despite being a man down Ireland continued to create with Dundalk's Gabriel Adebambo working tirelessly upfront.

It would be Norway on the back foot for the closing 10 minutes and despite their effort Ireland couldn't find that elusive equaliser.
