Match report
Luxembourg 0-0 Republic of Ireland

Jim Crawford's side had won the first encounter between the sides 1-0 on Tuesday.

"It was a different kind of game. The pitch didn't lend itself to great football so it was difficult to get on it and pass out from the back as we tried to do," said Crawford.

"We gave possession away in key areas too often and were caught on a few transitions from that. I felt we could have been better and it was a disappointing performance.

"Another clean sheet and being unbeaten from the two games is good but the performance going forward had to be better.

"These games are building blocks with a view to November's UEFA U19 qualifiers. A lot of our players have been inactive since May 2 so it was hard for those guys to find their best form. Luxembourg have just finished their season so that was a test for us.

"Overall the most important past is how the players learn from weeks like this."
