Germany 3 (Damminger 2, Lehner)
Republic of Ireland 1 (Dunne)

Match 13

Statto: Plev Ellis's firs of his two goals for Ireland.

There was little action early in the game.

The first shot of any consequence happened after 15 minutes when Paddy Moore had a shot well saved by German keeper Buckloh.

The Irish took the lead when captain Gaskins took a free kick on the half way line and lobbing the ball into the box Ellis got his head to the ball with Buckloh in the German goal getting into a tangle with his full back Tiefel leaving the ball bobble into the empty goal.

It was not long before Germany equalised. A free kick awarded against Dunne saw Liehner take the free kick himself. Foley got his hands to the shot and pushed it onto the crossbar. With the ball rebounding from the crossbar it was Damminger who responded first and tapped it into an empty net.

Ireland had to place O'Kane on the wing - due to injury - (substitutes were not allowed).

Germany took full advantage and with two further goals - a second goal from Damminger and the final goal by Lehner giving Germany a convincing victory.
