Preview: Germany - Republic of Ireland
World Cup Qualifier
11.10.2013 at 19:45 - Rhein Energie Stadion

Following medical examination, Jon Walters has been ruled out of the Ireland squad to face Germany and Kazakhstan. Paul Green has been called up in his place.

Keiren Westwood has also withdrawn to receive medical treatment during the international window and he will be replaced by Stephen Henderson.

Noel King today announced his final squad to face Germany (October 11 in Cologne) and Kazakhstan (October 15 in Aviva Stadium) after naming a provisional squad earlier this week.

Damien Delaney, who was added into the provisional squad on Thursday after he passed a late fitness test at his club, remains in the final squad. Darren Randolph misses out in order to have treatment on a shoulder injury at his club making way for Newcastle’s Rob Elliot, who receives his first senior call up.

Jon Walters will be medically assessed at his club tomorrow to determine whether he will report for duty on Monday after being substituted in the 70th minute in Stoke’s game against Fulham today (groin).

Paul Mc Shane, Stephen Quinn and Paul Green remain on standby.

Tickets for the Kazakhstan game in Aviva Stadium on Tuesday, October 15 are now on sale from www.fai.ie at just €10 for children and starting at €35 for adults.
